Nourish the Parent A Stay and Play But with a Difference. This Time the focus is On you.
Nourishing gatherings for parents on the 1st /3rd Monday of the month at the Wanstead Quaker House E11.
A Nourishing 2 hours to find solidarity, awareness, acceptance and growth in a supportive nurturing environment. It takes a village to raise a child but when there is no village we must build our own, because parenting was never meant to be done in such isolation and you are inherently worthy of support and belonging on your parenting journey.
Expect breathwork, mindful movement, sharing circles, many cups of tea, kinship and a safe non judgemental place to belong.
Bring your children (or not) they play but this is not about entertaining them, life is entertaining ebough, you the parent are inherently deserving of nourishment. You are inherently good enough and in this space we will nurture and celebrate all of our "good enoughness"
Nourish The Parent: About the Sessions
The sessions are hosted by Emily Hughes Conscious Parenting Coach and Maura Belcher Doula and Hypnobirthing Teacher In Bloom Wellbeing and each week we will have a different guest speaker
This is a space for sharing and space holding, empathy, friendship, solidarity and growth.
These sessions are rooted in the belief that each parent and each child is fundamentally good enough and is worthy of belonging.
The space is open and inclusive to all parents and primary caregivers male/ female non binary etc. This is not a typical stay and play as it's focus is on the parent so it’s not suitable for nannies, aupairs or childminders.
Crying and tantrums are very welcome here. If a child needs to cry or have a tantrum in the session that is because they needed to cry/ release overwhelm from their bodies. Both of these are good things and of this is welcome.
Feeding and nappy changing are very welcome.
Hierarchies of power. This is a sharing space where the facilitators will collaborators. Guest speakers will come to talks and Q and A but ultimately you are also an expert- an expert in your unique self and your unique child.
Included in your ticket price is a cup of tea and biscuit (gluten free/ vegan options available) for you and a fruit/ veg snack for your child (apples/ carrots/ tangerines etc) we will be asking for help tidying up and serving in the spirit of community.
You may bring your child snacks of their own but please no nuts.
Allergies- we know that it can be incredibly isolating to be a parent who has children with allergies and as such if a parent is concerned about allergens in the space please let us know and we will do what we can to make sure this is a safe inclusive environment for your child.
Throughout each session we will be mindful of how we can all grow into good space holders and provide solidarity for each other.
